Today, online marketing is getting a lot of attention from business owners.  It can be an effective way to increase one’s audience. However, it also can be very time consuming and sometimes it does not get the overall long term desired results. I believe this is because, depending on the business, the type of client that is gained from online marketing may not be as loyal as the typical consumer. There are many options in today’s marketplace, and with the click of the mouse or the swipe of the finger, all those options can be viewed instantly. With this in mind, business owners have gone with the flow and have plugged into the online super-highway. Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Yelp (just to name a few) all offer attractive marketing opportunities.

The danger the small to mid-size business owner faces is to place too much emphasis on these, while neglecting other important marketing venues.  It is important for us small business owners to have a well thought out marketing plan and a strategy of implementation that includes a wide range of marketing tools.

Print marketing is still an effective and necessary tool in the small business owners’ arsenal. Newspapers and magazines are no longer, in my humble opinion, a reliable source for sales and marketing, however a well thought out and designed brochure can land a big fish.

It is with these things in mind that we have included www.SaveBigWinBig.net in our product offerings – see www.savebigwinbig.net and www.thepennyplan.net  (designed just for business owners) for more insight. We offer several means of marketing for very little cost.

We are off to a good start.  Several customers have reported a high response rate.  With the cost so low, the marketing dollar per sale is pennies on the dollar.  Many of these responses could easily become lifetime customers, multiplying the return on investment.  Attracting customers is our job - retaining them is yours.  That is the subject of a future blog, because while I’m confident we all know what to do, it is easy for all of us to sometimes forget the basics.

Business cards have been around a very long time - If you are interested in learning a bit about how they got their start click here. Even with the advent of the "paperless society" the business card is still as useful as ever. There are as many uses for the business card as there are different designs.  Since the start of the "Great Recession" we have emphasized our standard $59 business card (1000 cards) for obvious reasons.  Most of you were concerned with more important matters than coming up with a cool and different card.  Now that we are seeing some glimmers of improvement, God willing it will continue, we are going to introduce some new styles of cards.  They will include:

1. Multiple colors of Foil
2. Lenticular (4D)
3. Standard Foil
4. Embossing
5. Specialty papers
6. Die Cut
7. Frosted Plastic
8. Clear Plastic
9. Plastic
10. Super secret new product - to be announced this year.

It is my goal in this blog to give ideas to help our customers "get noticed". There are endless possibilities to help us stand out from the crowd and we would like to help.
